Film in Italian: Il conformista

If there is one characteristic common to all great filmmakers, it is certainly their stylistic signature. The cut of a shot, the photography, are often encrypted signatures intelligible to the collective imagination. Bernardo Bertolucci, an authentic cinephile, is among those who has been able to create an unmistakable style. Il conformista (The Conformist), based on the novel of the same name by Alberto Moravia, already encompasses all the peculiarities of the films that would soon make the author world-famous. A superlative workmanship the credit for which must be shared equally with Vittorio Storaro (photography) and Franco Arcalli (editing).
