Excursion - if stones speak: the evangelical cemetery of Merano

On this tour, participants will get to know the cemetery and some of the illustrious personalities who are buried here. Registration required.

In 1861, the first Evangelical cemetery in Tyrol was inaugurated in what is now Marconi Park in Merano/Meran. It became the final resting place for an increasing number of non-Catholic guests who travelled to Merano, searched for healing and did not find it - in other words, died in the spa town. In view of the increasing number of burials, the existing cemetery was supplemented by another in Via Marlengo. Today, this cemetery is a true cultural treasure, documenting a piece of the town's history with its burial monuments.
