Philosophical coffee: Contested peace - Reflection on the current situation

‘There is war.’ This statement, which may sound so trivial in the face of almost constant warlike violence that it could be considered a tautology, or at least a platitude - isn't there always war? - perhaps it does offer a few insights: it could also be read to mean that war dominates our imagination to such an extent that we are barely able to imagine alternatives to it. War does indeed prevail and yet - or precisely because of this - it is important to explore what could be done and thought differently, and what is already happening.
