Theatre in Italian language: Un gioco senza amore

‘A game without love’ is a story like many. Unfortunately. The story of a couple, of a family, destroyed by pathological gambling. An addiction that annihilates everything in its path, which must be stripped of the romantically decadent allure to which the literature of past centuries has made us accustomed. A deformed and sick spiral, which falls with all its weight on the shoulders of the player's family members. Often, the shoulders of women. The story of a violence and a falling out. And, perhaps, of a rebirth.
The performance is part of a larger project. In addition to the dramaturgy - written in four hands with the playwright and director Francesco Niccolini, the author Alessandra Limetti published in December 2023, for the publishing house Athesia, the book ‘A perdere - Un gioco senza amore’, a narrative version carried out in parallel with the dramaturgical drafting, and from which the latter was born. For the research, she relied on the scientific advice of Dr. Belletati, psychologist and psychotherapist, referent for the gambling sector of the Hands centre in Bolzano, who signed the afterword to the book, and Dr. Clotilde Bellani, psychologist and psychotherapist.
