The section of the Merano High Mountain Trail n°24 from Katharinaberg/Monte Santa Caterina to the Pfossental Valley remains closed until further notice due to rockfalls.
According to current information, the original route will not reopen before 2026, as extensive construction work is required.
The responsible authorities are currently working on a corresponding restoration project.
Detour from Sellboden in Monte Santa Caterina!
The detour runs via the Tumlhof farm and continues along the Pfossental road to the wide bend behind the Infanglhof, where hikers can rejoin trail no. 24. The detour requires approximately 1.5 additional hours of walking time.
To bridge this section, an alternative shuttle service will be provided.
Three information boards along the trail will inform hikers about the current situation and provide a phone number to arrange a shuttle into the Pfossental Valley. A regular shuttle service is currently being planned.
