July 1995. Aida, a Bosnian, teaches English and works as an interpreter at a UN base in the hot days before the Serbian army occupies Srebrenica. But the international protection system, managed by the Dutch military hierarchy, proves increasingly fragile and inadequate in the face of Mladic's advancing troops. The refugee situation becomes increasingly dramatic and Aida finds herself caught between two fires, in a desperate attempt to save her family and fellow citizens from grave danger.
