South Tyrol reveals its most attractive face in winter. Snow falls on the mountain ranges, while the valleys remain mild and sunny.
Some of the most beautiful
ski tours from Tesimo/Tisens run along the idyllic,
panoramic Laugen mountain. After an active day in the snow, vacationers relax at the Merano Thermal Baths.
The
five ski areas of the region can be reached quickly from Tesimo and Prissiano, including Merano 2000 (30 minutes’ drive), the Schwemmalm (40 minutes’ drive), Pfelders (80 minutes’ drive) or the Schnalstal Glacier (60 minutes’ drive) ski areas.
Due to the mild climate, the villages of Tesimo/Tisens, Prissiano/Prissian, Grissiano/Grissian and Narano/Naraun are mostly snow-free in winter. In contrast, the snow lies like a blanket on the dense forests around the panoramic Laugen mountain. While the
trails around Tesimo - Prissiano often remain free of snow and allow sunny hikes even in winter, the trails around the Laugen on the Gampenpass mountain pass lead up into the idyllic snow covered mountains.
