The villages in the upper part of the valley – Hinterpasseier or Alta Val Passiria - include Moos/Moso, Stuls/Stulles, Platt/Plata, Rabenstein/Corvara and Pfelders/Plan. Richly diverse, picturesque and colourful, an incredible amount of biodiversity can be found in the flora and fauna of the mountain backdrop. Quaint farmsteads blend harmoniously with the alpine landscape, and walkers will be delighted with the dense woods, pure mountain air and thundering waterfalls. Stuls and Platt are both particularly blessed with sunshine and nature. Moos, the main village in the area, is home not only to numerous lovely cafés, but also to the unique Bunker Mooseum. The alpine village of Pfelders is currently the highest permanently inhabited village in the Passeiertal Valley, and is the only “soft mobility” ski resort in South Tyrol. Starting from Rabenstein, the panorama road leads straight up the Timmelsjoch pass. Five museums along the way form the so-called “Timmelsjoch Experience”.
