For those up to the challenge, the
famous Merano High Mountain Trail n° 24 near Partschins/Parcines is an exciting hike. Divided into six stages, the 110 km circuit extends across the Texelgruppe mountain range with breath-taking views of the Dolomites, the Rosengarten and Ortler mountains.
The kitchens in the
mountain hut and shelters along the trail serve traditional specialties with homemade fruit juices and local alcoholic beverages.
The
Merano High Mountain Trail may be reached using the panoramic
Texelbahn Cable Car from Parcines. Each of the six stages of the Merano High Mountain Trail can be broken down, without having to walk the entire length in one go. A very rewarding part of the Merano High Mountain trail is the stage from the Texelbahn Cable Car mountain station cross the Gorge of a Thousand Steps (1000-Stufen-Schlucht) to the Unterstell Cable Car in Naturno/Naturns and to Monte Santa Caterina / Katharinaberg in the Val Senales Valley / Schnalstal.
