The hike begins at the Birkenwald bus stop, following trail no. 26 toward the Partschins Waterfall. Right from the start, you’ll be accompanied by the roaring natural spectacle of South Tyrol’s most impressive waterfall – a true healing climate experience. At an altitude of 1,060 meters, you’ll reach the first highlight: the viewing platform, perfect for stunning photos, and the cozy Waterfall Inn, an ideal spot for your first break.
The trail continues along the “Waterfall” Alpine Trail, winding through a picturesque alpine landscape. Along the way, you’ll encounter turquoise pools, babbling brooks, idyllic picnic areas, and impressive rock formations. After a varied ascent, you’ll arrive at the Nasereit Mountain Hut at 1,523 meters. This hut is located directly on the Merano High Mountain Trail no. 24 and marks the endpoint of the Waterfall Via Ferrata, making it an ideal resting place for both hikers and climbers. Here, you can enjoy a well-deserved break and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountain slopes, towering peaks, and the Ziel Valley.
The return path follows trail no. 8A, passing the famous fountain "Elisabethquelle". The path gently descends through diverse forests and meadows to the inviting Durster Inn, another excellent spot for a pause. From there, trail no. 26 leads you back to your starting point at the Birkenwald bus stop.

Parking
Texelbahn valley station, Via Ziel, Rabland/Rablà All-day, in the designated parking area. Campers only between 7.00 a.m. – 7.00 p.m. The car park at the Partschins cemetery is reserved for cemetery visitors and funerals. We ask you to respect this!
