Preheat oven to 190°C. Wash the apples, remove the cores and cut into thin slices. Sprinkle the apple slices with lemon juice, and place in a bowl with some water before microwaving for 2-3 minutes.
Roll out the puff pastry and cut lengthwise into 6 strips. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and cover the top half of the dough with the soft apple slices. Fold the lower half of the dough inward and roll it up, placing the resulting “apple rose“ in a muffin tin. Bake for approx. 25 – 35 minutes on the bottom rack of the oven.
Sprinkle the finished apple roses with confectioner‘s sugar.
TIP: Apricot jam can also be used for the filling.
