The famous hairpin bends of the Passo Stelvio

Discover the fascination of road cycling in Naturns

Experience breathtaking routes and unforgettable moments on a road bike

South Tyrol, especially the Venosta Valley, makes the hearts of racing cyclists beat faster! The mild climate with over 300 sunny days a year, little frequented mountain roads and crisp mountain passes are waiting to be discovered!

The cycle path along the Adige river, which runs along the Via Claudia Augusta, can be used for the first tours by racing bike as early as February.
Naturns is almost 60 kilometres between apple orchards and vineyards are not only a delight in terms of scenery, but also the more than 1,000 metres of altitude difference to Lake Resia, with its outstanding church tower, make the heart of the racing cyclists beat a little faster!
The beautiful side valleys and the asphalt mountain roads that lead past the mountain farms are also passable almost all year round.

Winding roads, some metres in altitude to overcome and a wonderful view of the valley: racing cyclists really get their money's worth here!
Passo Stelvio / Stilfser Joch

The unforgettable bends

The Stilfserjoch/Passo Stelvio alpine pass is both: popular and notorious among racing cyclists. The Stilfserjoch at 2,757 m is the highest pass road in Italy and attracts countless racing cyclists every year.
To get to the pass, it is best to start in Prad/Prato, which is about 37 km away from Naturns. Here you can take advantage of the bike shuttle service of the Ötzi Bike Academy in Naturns. Prad is 910 m above sea level, so you have to do 25 km and 1,848 m difference in altitudo to reach the alpine pass!
The 48 bends, which climb with an average gradient of 10%, offer a ride through a varied landscape with breathtaking views! After a good half of the route, the racing cyclists have the imposing mountain massif with the glaciated Ortler in front of their eyes! With its 3.905 m the Ortler towers above all mountains and is therefore also called "King Ortler".
