Situated between Lana and the Gampenpass mountain pass, the village of Foiana/Völlan and its hiking area is known for the especially pure quality of the mountain air. Paths along the hillside lead through chestnut groves and fruit orchards, suited to hikers of an above-average fitness level. The hiking trails between the mountain huts and shelters continue as far as the Val d’Ultimo/Ultental Valley.
The mountain biking circuit on Mount Gallberg is relatively flat, while the ride up the Völlaner Joch ridge is steeper. The Völlaner Badl mountain inn with its natural springs has a long-standing reputation as thermal bath. Mayenburg Castle and Leonburg Castle are also worth visiting, along with the St. Hippolyt Kirche church, built on a hill above the village of Narano/Naraun.
