General description
Impressive hike over the alpine pastures of the Hirzer region. This delightful hike including a cable car ride captivates with its splendid views and idyllic spots that encourage walkers to stop and linger for a while.
Route description
To begin, take trail no. 40 from the mountain station of the Hirzer cable car up to the Hirzerhütte mountain hut. The route passes partly over alpine pastures and partly through larch forest to the Hintereggalm and then on to the Mahdalm mountain huts. Both alpine pastures have serviced huts and are great places to stop for a rest and refreshments. Next, following the signpost to Tall, continue along trail no. 4 down to the Gampenwiesen meadows and Gompm Alm mountain hut (closed), then along a wide forest track downhill to Prenn, the mid-station of the Hirzer cable car.
As an alternative, proceed via Scena to Verdins, take the cable car and then the chair lift Talle-Grube. From the mountain station it takes about 30 minutes to reach Klammeben by foot.
