This is a leisurely hour-long walk from Schenna to Merano. The sunny Mitterplattweg leads through orchards and vineyards to the heart of the spa town. Panoramic views included.
Starting from Schenna village centre, Katnauweg branches off to the right near the Schennerhof. A little further on, heading south on Mitterplattweg the route comes to Schenna Lido. Between the apple orchards Tschoigassl alley leads past the Oberhaslerhof as far as Planta Castle in Merano’s elegant residential area of Obermais. The route then follows Schönblickstrasse and the sunny promenade along the river Passer to Merano old town.
Stroller-friendly variant: From the Lido Schenna , go up the paved road to the Schenna Resort, where you descend again at the hotel underpass. Here the path is also marked as a bike path. Follow the path to the Oberhaslerhof and continue to Planta Castle and Schönblickstraße.
