This exceptionally sunny trail offers spectacular views over the Meran basin.
The Tappeinerweg trail is an approx. 6 km long promenade in the city of Meran/Merano. Long sections of the path offer wonderful views of the city of Merano. The Tappeinerweg has a wide variety of predominantly Mediterranean trees and shrubs.
From the village center (tourist information office) follow the main street (Hauptstraße) downhill. Keschtngasse branches off from the main street (Hauptstraße) by the mini golf course. Follow this road until it leads into Gnaidweg. Continue right along Gnaidweg to Thurner Schloessl (small castle). Head downhill for approx. 200 m on Thurnstein Straße. The famous Tappeinerweg trail begins here on the left. Follow this trail as far as Zenoberg. From here it’s about another 150 metres uphill towards Dorf Tirol/Tirolo as far as Erlachhof. From here follow Alter Tirolerweg as far as Segenbühelweg, then continue along this road to the main street (Hauptstraße) and along this back to your starting point.
Along the Bolzano/Bozen-Meran/Merano expressway to the exit Meran South-Sinich/Sinigo - Dorf Tirol/Tirolo - along the main street to the tourist information association (main street 31).
Chargeable parking just down from the tourist information association near the turn-off onto Aichweg.
Take bus 221 from Merano to Dorf Tirol bus station in the centre of the village.
