Viewpoint Ruins of Casatsch Pfeffersburg Castle

The viewpoint at the ruins of Casatsch, also known as Pfeffersburg Castle, offers a wide view to the south over the Adige Valley toward Bolzano. The ruins sit atop a wooded hill above Nals, in the municipality of Tisens in South Tyrol. Permission to build the castle was granted in 1195, making it one of the older fortifications in the region. Today, the ruins are a popular destination for hikers. The location is peaceful and picturesque – ideal for a short break with a view. The ruins are accessible all year round and can be easily reached via well-marked hiking trails from Nals or Prissian.
