Climate Change Adaptation Plan
Climate Change Adaptation Plan
Climate change is fundamentally altering our world, affecting nature, society, and the economy in diverse ways, with direct implications for our daily lives. While the precise impacts on specific regions can be challenging to predict, the effects are already palpable. Adapting to these changes is essential.

In 2019, the Burggrafenamt district launched the KlimaPlan Burggrafenamt climate plan project, involving 25 municipalities. Coordinated by the Environmental, Mobility, and Technical Services Department of the district and funded by the Provincial Energy and Climate Protection Office and participating municipalities, the project aims to reduce consumption and emissions by 2030 and supports South Tyrol’s Climate Plan 2040, which targets climate neutrality by 2040. Each municipality has developed or updated its climate plan, contributing to a comprehensive district-wide strategy.

The climate change adaptation plan for Schenna, developed by IDM South Tyrol and the Tourism Association of Schenna, highlights the impact of climate change on tourism and the necessary adaptation measures. Actions such as sustainable water management, seasonal adjustments, and eco-friendly infrastructure aim to make the region future-proof.
