Mountain Tour to the "Glaitner Hochjoch" (2,389 m)

General description
Varied and beautiful pleasure hike with good panoramic views.

Starting point: Stuls

End point: Stuls

Refreshment stop: Kuchlalm
Route description

From the Stuls/Stulles parish church parking lot follow the road east (E5) out of the valley for about 1 km, without any changes in the gradient of the terrain. Above the Silberhütthöhe grounds as the E5 turns right, pass over several bends as the road heads north to the Burkt and the Raffein mountain farms, where it ends.

From the Raffeinhof farm take the Jaufenkamm Urweg path (16) north, initially crossing a forested section before reaching the so-named ‘Kuchlkaser’ above the tree line. Continue northeast across some magnificent mountain meadows towards the Schlattacher Joch ridge. From there, climb up the steps eastwards and follow the ridge to the panoramic summit (16). The views of the Ötztaler, Stubai and Zillertal Alps are truly spectacular!

The return along the path (16A) leads over several hairpin bends to the Schlattacher Mahder meadows at the forest edge. A forest road brings you back to the Raffeinhof parking lot (16A). Then follow the road to the Stuls parish church parking lot (E5).
