Spring Merano in Partschins

Experience Spring in Partschins/Parcines

In Merano and the surrounding areas, spring is so beautiful that it has even inspired its own series of events.
On the theme of “Spring in Merano” Partschins too welcomes the “Langes”, as spring is known in South Tyrol, in its customary varied and inviting way.
Partschins sets the scene for spring with concerts, art combined with the landscape, and impressive glimpses of unfamiliar gardens, all against the majestic backdrop of nature as it awakens. Flourishing orchards, rippling irrigation channels, behind them the snow-covered summits of the Texel Group of mountains and a cloudless, dazzling sky. Balm for the soul after the long winter months. Inspiration for creative ideas and renewal.
From April to June, Spring in Merano makes its way to Partschins too and bestows blossom-filled holiday moments...

Our spring
The sun shines, the snow is disappearing from up on the summits, flowers bring colour to the landscape. Spring is here in Partschins and with it a colourful and festive apparel that makes you want a holiday. The desire for nature, exercise, the great outdoors. Now, after a long winter, there’s nothing better: a trip through blossoming flourishing apple orchards, a leisurely walk along the irrigation channel paths, a mountain tour by e-bike, or a hike to Partschins Falls. The timing is ideal: now, after the ice has melted, the almost 100-metre tall cascade crashes impressively and wildly into the depths. It cleans the airways and invigorates the senses.
Anyone wanting to do their body some good will love Spring in Partschins. This is because as well as the warming sunshine and the Alpine-Mediterranean climate, there is more that revolves around health and wellbeing here too. “Gsund bleibm! Salute! Take Care!” – the name says it all – and this programme includes, for example, forest bathing, climate therapy and Kneipp walks along with herbology.
Spring: it brings variety to the landscape, to the event programme and – how could it be any different in the delicious region of South Tyrol – onto the plate too. In keeping with the refreshing new season, the culinary offering in Partschins is dedicated to lightness and vitamin-filled goodness. Delicious spring cuisine is served, prepared with everything that nature allows to flourish so abundantly at this time of year: crunchy vegetables and lots of fresh herbs. All served with a friendly smile - a constant, incidentally, that does not change with the seasons here in Partschins.
Apple Blossom in South Tyrol

Spring feelings in the apple orchards of Partschins

There is a time in the year, somewhere between March and April, that has its own special charm. A time when outside it gets greener every day, mild temperatures tempt us into the open air and the fruit trees swap their dull brown for spring-like pale pink. This time is the apple blossom season. For these few weeks in Partschins it smells wonderfully of spring. Of sunshine. Of the desire to get “outside in nature”. And whilst the nose delights in the lovely smells, the eyes roam over a fabulous sea of flowers. Thousands upon thousands of apple trees, abundantly studded with pinkish-white buds, decorate the orchards of Partschins at the foot of the still snow-covered mountains. What a sight! No wonder that so many visitors take care to organise their trip to Partschins for after the start of the apple blossom season!

Sparkling frost patterns and romantic log fires.
Whilst in the orchards of Partschins, spring feelings are burgeoning, the farmers are taking precautions to protect the tender buds from night-time frosts. If the temperatures fall below freezing, the protective sprinklers spring into action and overnight conjure up a sea of sparkling ice flowers. Where frost protection sprinklers cannot be used, heat is put to work instead: with time-consuming manual labour, on especially cold nights the farmers light candles or wood fires between the rows of trees and melt the dangerous frost away.

And someone else is also busying themselves in the orchards during this time too. This is because, with the apple blossom season, the time of hunting for nectar and pollinating the plants begins for the bees. Tirelessly they fly from one blossom to the next, distributing the precious pollen. For the farmers they are a vital support and at the same time one reason why in Partschins the farmers and beekeepers have always maintained a fruitful cooperation.
