Stir butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until the mixture becomes creamy. Gradually stir in the eggs. Mix the flour, sifted baking powder and hazelnuts, add to the egg mixture and knead into a dough, then allow to rest for 2 hours. Roll the dough into several evenly thick sticks and then cut into light pieces. Form these into balls, place on the baking tray at regular intervals and press flat. Press a depression in the middle with your finger and bake in a preheated oven.
Oven temperature: 180 degrees for about 10 – 13 minutes
Allow to cool and sprinkle with icing sugar. Fill with jam into the hollow of the doughnuts.
