In South Tyrol, a tourist tax applies. This is collected per guest and overnight stay by accommodation establishments.
The revenue from the tourist tax is used to develop and maintain infrastructure, hiking trails, and services, as well as to organize cultural and sporting events.
Children and teenagers under 14 years of age are exempt from this tax.
The tourist tax is due upon departure and is listed separately on the invoice.

The tourist tax is categorized as follows:

- €3.10 per person per night in accommodation with 4 and 5 stars
- €2.60 per person per night in accommodation with 3/3s stars,
in 5-flower farm stays, and in private rentals with 5 suns
- €2.10 per person per night for all other categories and camping
