To us, Merano/Meran is about its promenades and palms, gardens and parklands, castles and palaces, noble villas, and unique urbanscape. Always fascinating, Merano is also a historical spa town where hospitality and tourism reside in its soul. Here, Tyrolean Alpine traditions are fused with a cosmopolitan Italian lifestyle, creating a distinctive world-renowned cuisine. As illustrated by its local tourism operators and in its museums, the history and future trajectory of Merano is narrated in its numerous exhibitions and cultural events. Indeed thanks to its numerous museums, fairs, and varied festivals programme the thriving spa town enjoys a rich cultural life. But Merano is also about taking a morning walk through the still-dewy Passer river, a mountain hike up to the Mutspitze summit, or ambling through its medieval arcades.
