Panoramic swimming pools in Merano and Environs

The South Tyrolean swimming pools around Marlengo nestle in an impressive natural landscape. Thanks to the mild climate it is possible to swim outdoors from spring to late summer in Merano & Environs with its Mediterranean influences. Marlengo’s central location means that it is just a few kilometres away from all of the outdoor and indoor pools in the region.
In the centre of the spa town of Merano the thermal baths have countless indoor and outdoor pools and a large spa and wellness area. Around Merano there are new and varied outdoor pools for families, such as the natural swimming pool in Gargazzone and the adventure pool in Naturno. There are magnificent views of the Merano basin and the surrounding mountains from the panoramic pools in the villages of Scena and Tirolo. And the South Tyrolean bathing lakes such as Monticolo and Caldaro are distinguished by their outstanding water quality. The boat rentals and outdoor pools on the lake promise lots of fun for young and old alike.

The Alpine Cattle Drive is one of South Tyrol’s most beloved autumn traditions. 🐮⛰
After spending the summer months on the high alpine pastures, cattle are decorated with flowers, bells and traditional ornaments before their return to the valley. This special moment marks the end of the grazing season and is celebrated with music, local delicacies and village festivals, reflecting the deep connection between agriculture, culture and mountain life.

Mountain farming has shaped South Tyrol’s landscape for generations. Especially on steep meadows, haymaking requires skill, hard work and close knowledge of the land. While modern machinery makes some tasks easier today, many steps still rely on careful manual work, keeping an important part of rural life and tradition alive.🌾
