Südtirolerisch erklärt – versteasch du olls?🗣️🤔

In Südtirol treffen viele verschiedene Dialekte aufeinander – und manchmal reichen schon wenige Kilometer, damit ein Wort plötzlich ganz anders klingt oder eine andere Bezeichnung verwendet wird. Vom Vinschgau über das Burggrafenamt bis ins Passeier- oder Pustertal hat jede Gegend ihre sprachlichen Besonderheiten. 😊

Da kann es durchaus einmal zu einem fragenden Gesicht kommen – und selbst Einheimische kennen längst nicht jeden Ausdruck aus den anderen Tälern.

Marling associations introduce themselves – Marling Folk Dance Group💃🕺

Traditional dances, South Tyrolean dress and a strong sense of community – that's what the Marling Folk Dance Group is all about. Since 1983, the group has been keeping Alpine folk dances and local traditions alive. 🌿🎶

The group regularly performs at village celebrations, including the torch dance on Easter night, the ribbon dance on Mother's Day and the hoop dance at the harvest festival. They also take part in folk music evenings, festivals and other events throughout South Tyrol.
Community is just as important as dancing: regular rehearsals, excursions and barbecues are all part of the group’s activities. 😊

Today, the Marling Folk Dance Group has 23 members and is a member of "ARGE Volkstanz in Südtirol". 💃🕺

Marlinger Vereine stellen sich vor – Volkstanzgruppe Marling💃🕺

Traditionelle Tänze, gelebtes Brauchtum und viel Freude an der Gemeinschaft – dafür steht die Volkstanzgruppe Marling. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1983 hat sie es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, alpenländische Volkstänze gemeinsam zu erlernen und zu erhalten. 🌿

Dabei geht es um weit mehr als das Tanzen: Auch die Pflege des Südtiroler Brauchtums und der traditionellen Tracht spielt eine wichtige Rolle. Bei verschiedenen Feierlichkeiten im Dorf ist die Volkstanzgruppe regelmäßig mit dabei – etwa mit dem Fackeltanz in der Osternacht, dem Bandltanz zum Muttertag oder dem Reiftanz zu Erntedank. Auch bei Volksmusikabenden, in Hotels sowie bei Festen und Veranstaltungen auf Landesebene zeigt die Gruppe ihr Können. 🎶

Natürlich kommt auch das gesellige Miteinander nicht zu kurz. Gemeinsame Ausflüge, Grillabende, Lehrgänge und Kurse gehören ebenso zum Vereinsleben. Auch zum gemeinsamen Proben trifft sich die Gruppe regelmäßig. 😊

Heute zählt die Volkstanzgruppe Marling 23 Mitglieder und ist Mitglied der ARGE Volkstanz in Südtirol. Mit ihrem Engagement trägt sie dazu bei, Brauchtum, Tracht und alpenländischen Volkstanz in Marling lebendig zu halten. 🤝

Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle Mitglieder für ihren Einsatz und dafür, dass ihr dieses schöne Brauchtum in Marling weiterlebt! 👏

Hiking tip in the area: “Schildhöfe” trail in Saltaus 🥾🌿

If you’d like to combine nature with a piece of South Tyrolean history, the Schildhöfe trail from Saltaus to Quellenhof is well worth exploring. Along the way, you’ll pass historic Schildhöfe farms, meadows and peaceful stretches of forest. 🌳

Starting at the bus stop in Saltaus, follow Riederbergstraße and trail no. 1 to Schildhof Haupold. From there, the “Schildhöfeweg” leads through meadows and forest to Schildhof Granstein in Quellenhof.

Along the way, you’ll discover more about the chestnut groves, the forest and local history surrounding Cardinal Haller and the Passeier court. From Quellenhof, the Passer riverside trail takes you comfortably back to Saltaus. 🌿

⏱️ Walking time: approx. 2 hours
📈 Elevation gain: 209 m

Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. The trail is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
