General description
From the center of the village of Gargazzone we head in the direction of Merano as far as the edge of the village, where, before the bridge, we turn into Aschlbachstrasse past a few houses and then along a path through the meadows to Vöranerweg.
Another possibility would also be to start from the main road and pass the Turmwirt inn and then take Vöranerweg uphill. At the sweeping right-hand bend we cross to the left over the bridge over the Aschlbach.
The route then winds steeply uphill to the Morosing, Pfontscher and Steger farms. The view into the romantic Aschlbach gorge should not be missed. From there we can either take the easy road to the center of the village of Verano or chose the steeper, yet more picturesque footpath to the mountain station of the Verano Cable Car.
Route description
From the town centre (good parking facilities) we walk in the direction of Merano to the beginning of the village, where we turn right into Aschlbachstraße before the bridge, pass a few houses and then take a meadow path to reach the Vöranerweg. Another possibility would be to pass the Gasthof Zum Turm and then the Vöranerweg. Then it goes up in steep serpentines to the farms Morosing, Pfrontscher and Steger. We should not miss the view into the romantic gorge of the Aschlbach! From there we reach the beautiful footpath to the top station of the Vöran cable car.
