Church of St. Anna

The Church of St. Anna in Aschl/Eschio, near Vöran/Verano, is a Romanesque Revival building that was dedicated on July 26th, 1905: St. Anne’s Day.

A merchant, who hailed from Mölten/Meltina and had found prosperity in Bolzano/Bozen, founded the church. The curate of Vöran, Anton Locher, helped with the construction financially, buying a forest and a meadow for the small house of worship.

Description to arrive at destination

Coming from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano - Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo and Vöran/Verano. The little church is places in Aschl/Eschio, directly near the main road to Mölten/Meltina.

With the bus until the bus stop "Förstler":

  • Bus no. 204 "Hafling - Vöran - Mölten - Terlan - Bozen"
  • Bus no. 225 "Meran - Hafling - Falzeben" (until Hafling Dorf, than change to busline no. 204)

Author's tip

From the parking place LeNoir above "Grüner Baum" and Restaurant das Stübele you can reach the small church via the "Familien-Besinnungsweg" (approx. 30 minutes walk).
