A scenic round trip with spectacular view points and the chance to stop and take a break.
With castles, forest trails and wonderful views, the Herrschaftsweg (or Ruling) trail truly lives up to its name.
The starting point of this impressive scenic route is the tourist information office. From here follow trail no. 26 to Tyrol Castle, then continue towards Vellau, past the Schneeweisshof snack station. Turn right along the Herrschaftsweg (no. 28). After approx. 1 km trail no. 23A heads left up the steps to Innerfarmerhof. Pass by the Ausserfarmerhof and follow the trail that winds below the Farmerkreuz. Footpath no. 23B continues to the right, first through mixed forest and then through the orchards back to the village center.
Along the Bolzano/Bozen-Meran/Merano expressway to the exit Meran South-Sinich/Sinigo - Dorf Tirol/Tirolo - along the main street to the tourist information association (main street 31).
Take bus 221 from Merano to Dorf Tirol bus station in the centre of the village.
