Merano Dialogues - Let's talk about God and the world

A loss of priests, orphaned parishes, cases of abuse, half-empty churches and growing mistrust in the curia. But the times are over when the institution of the church could only look after itself and religious matters. People's everyday lives, political radicalisation and the state of planet earth present the church with immense challenges.

Ivo Muser has been bishop of the diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone since 2011. He is aware of the problems and talks openly about them. As part of the ‘Dialogues Merano’, he talks to Eberhard Daum about God and the world in the truest sense of the world: what does the bishop think about artificial intelligence, what does he say about populism, radicalisation and the shift to the right in our society, about war, violence, human suffering and a God who allows it all?
