Twelve kilometers long, the Marlinger Waalweg trail is a popular hiking trail which runs along the former irrigation channels, the longest of its kind in South Tyrol. Starting at the Töllbrücke bridge, the 250 year-old path gently ascends through apple orchards and woods to firmer and more level ground. After pausing to admire the medieval Lebenberg Castle, hikers continue slightly downhill along the slope of Marling mountain to the village of Lana.
From Meran/Merano or the valley Vinschgau/Val Venosta into the centre of Marling/Marlengo.
There are 3 parking area next to the Waalweg trail or some in the centre of Marling/Marlengo.

The bus line 212 goes directly to the centre of Marling. It is also possible to take the Vinschgau railway line 250 to Töll/Tel, where you can enter the Waalweg trail and walk to Marling/Marlengo. You can also return from Lana to Marlengo with the bus line 211 if you have walked the whole distance.
With its twelve kilometers the "Marlinger Waalweg" is the longest water channel in South Tyrol. It starts on the Töll, runs through the slopes and ends at Oberlana.
